While the social media has its own advantages in this internet-savvy generation, few others take undue advantage of it; end up committing crime.

One such incidence came to light where Naresh Jain, currently residing in Mumbai used a fake SIM and created a WhatsApp group including 20 members of his extended family to post spiteful messages. The act took a devious turn after incidence of suicide attempt and filing of divorce came into the picture among the family members, who were part of the group.

Hiran Magri police SHO Chagan Rajpurohit informed that the SIM that he was using was bogus and could not be tracked as no calls had been made. With the help of Cyber Expert, an email sent from the same number was detected which led to the admin of the WhatsApp group. The police immediately arrested Naresh who was then in Rajnagar to attend a wedding.

During interrogation, Naresh claimed that he had created the group due to personal vengeance and used to post unpleasant messages to the wives and daughters-in-law of the families.
