Udapiur: 29.08.23- A man was arrested on Tuesday at Dungarpur district of Rajasthan for allegedly raping his 16 year old daughter, police said.

Police action against the accused father has been taken following a written complaint given by the victim a 10th Class student, police added.

Based on the minor girl's complaint a case has been registered against the accused under section 376 (rape) and sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act.

In her report to the police the victim girl stated that the incident occurred on Monday when she was alone at the house with her father as her mother went to a nearby temple to offer prayers.Taking the advantage of the situation he took her to the backyard of thier house and had raped her.

In her report she also highlighted that when her mother returned back to the house and found her daughter crying she asked her husband about it. But instead of saying anything he started beating her too. However the victim girl later narrated her ordeal to her mother following which she took her to the Dowra police station along with her daughter where they lodged an complaint against her father blaming him for rape, police added.

Sp Dungarpur Kundan Kawariya said " We have registered a complaint against the culprit for rape and also under sections pf Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act, he has been arrested and is under police interrogation. Medical Examination of the victim girl has been done and now her statement under section 164 of Crpc will be registered".
