A man was arrested yesterday by Pratap Nagar Police Station team for allegedly raping his own 6 year old daughter. The complaint was lodged by his wife.

The accused had been coming to Udaipur with his wife and 2 daughters since about a year or so from Bihar for  working as labourer. In her complaint, the wife said that the accused used to work as a skilled labourer at a construction site. He was addicted to alcohol. He would also attempt to have illicit relationship with other female labour workers at work site. When she (wife) would object to his relationships, the accused would pick up a fight with her and even hit her.

In her complaint, the wife said that on the fateful evening of 30-Apr, she had left her elder 6-year old daughter home with her husband and had gone to neighbourhood. When she came back at 7pm, she found her husband raping his daughter and the 6-year old innocent girl was crying her heart out. When her husband (accused) saw her, he threatened that if she (wife) spoke about this incident to anyone, he would kill both their daughters.

The wife petrified by this stayed back home during night with her 2 daughters. On Tuesday evening, she narrated the entire incident to her neighbour. They then went to the police station and lodged an FIR.

A medical examination of the 6-year old girl confirmed rape. Police has arrested the accused.
