Udaipur,01.05.24- The Special Court for Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) No.2 on Wednesday sentenced a man for 20 years in rigorous imprisonment and and also leived a penalty of Rs . 1 Lakhs after finding him guilty for raping a minor girl in Udaipur in March 2023.
According to the Public Prosecutor Advocate Sayed Hussain the incidence occurred on 8th March 2023 when the victim girl went her school to write her examination paper and was returning back home in the afternoon at around 4.30 PM in the Pickup vehicle of the accused.
In the report of the victim's father he informed the police that the accused on that day targeted his daughter while she was travelling back to her house in his Pickup vehicle. He also claimed that the accused had kidnapped her and raped her.
Based on the report of the father of the victim girl the police had registered a case under section 363 (Punishment for Kidnapping ) ,366 (kidnaps or abducts any woman with intent that she may be compelled for get married without her own will),376 (n) and section 5 & 6 of the POCSO ACT OF 2012 and started the investigation. Later the accused was arrested by the police and the matter is under trail since than.
Hussain said that as many as 20 witness were examined and 39 documents (Exhibits) were verified on the basis of which the Judge Ashwini Kumar Yadav had sentenced the accused to 20 years rigorous imprisonment and also slapped him with a penalty of Rs. 1 Lakhs.
