-It was easy for him to steal scooty becuase police does not check documents for this particular vehicle.

-10 scooties have been recovered, 3 buyers detained.

It is quite surprising that a man got a good opportunity to steal a particular type of 2-wheelers many times just because police does not check documents for that vehicle. Scooty is a 2-wheeler that is ridden mostly by women and children and very often police lets go and does not check the documents.

This gave a man a good chance to steal 13 scooties within one year from the same area. Farhaz Khan observed the fact that police did not documents of people riding scooties, but only for those who rode sports bikes. He grabbed this idea that stealing scooties and selling them would fetch him a good amount and he started targeting a particular area after performing recce.

Farhaz hails from Uttar Pradesh and came to Udaipur 5 years back and started selling purses, wallets and belts. Then after his recce, he started stealing scooties. He sold scooties for whatsoever price and filled his pockets. Police has recovered 10 scooties from him which he had kept hidden in an empty plot near his house at Patel Circle. 3 of the scooties had been sold and the buyers have also been detained.

Upon interrogation, he revealed that he stole the 1st scooty about a year back. This scooty was white in colour, he re-coloured it with yellow and sold it to Manju Khan in 10,000 rupees. The one he stole 2 months back was sold to Shakir in 14,000 rupees and one of the scooties was sold to Shahid in 20,000 rupees. He used to steal scooties from the areas near Celebration Mall, would change the colour and while selling the purses and the stuff he used to make a deal with the people for the scooties.

As informed by the police, his activities while selling the bags and belts seemed to be quite suspicious. Police kept an eye on him after regular thefts started happening in that area. They spotted him riding different scooties regularly and decided to keep a watch on him. On 21st November, when he was about to start a scooty and leave, police stopped him and started interrogating him. Since Farhaz was not able to produce any documents, police became strict with him and he confessed to having stealing scooties and the entire story came out.
