A case has been registered at Bhupalpura Police station of defrauding a man in name of marriage and making away with money and of threatening with life.

Chetan Sen, a resident of Ayar area has registered the case. In his report Chetan said that he was acquainted with Sector 7 resident Sushil Pandey. Sushil talked to Chetan about his unmarried daughter, Prity, and proposed marriage.

Chetan and Prity got married in Hiran Magri Sector 5 on 6-Oct. Post marriage, Prity’s family member used to come to Chetan and Prity’s residence in Navratan Complex and leave after taking Rs 2000-4000 every time. When Chetan resisted, Prity started picking up a fight with him. She and her family members then threatened Chetan of rape charges and demanded Rs 200,000. Chetan took loan and gave money to family members.

After some time Chetan came to know that Prity was already married and she and her family members used this marriage modus-operandi for cheating people. Prity and her family members are residents of Uttar Pradesh and had only recently shifted to Udaipur.
