Once again chain snatchers have been arrested in the city. Three days back the convicts snatched a man’s chain on Havala road.

Police have arrested 2 chain snatchers who committed another snatching act on Havala road a few days back. The modus operandi of these convicts is like any other Indian film story.

Saddam and Nadeem adopted a filmy style of work. They would drive ahead of any other two-wheeler or four-wheeler, take a cut and accuse these drivers of rash driving, put up a fight and then snatch chains, mobiles and money and run away. Three days back they snatched chain from Mukesh S/O Ambalal Suthar.

Police officer Chandra Purohit said that Mukesh had gone to Havala crossing three days back in his car. He was having a food parcel packed from a lorry when Saddam, resident of Mahavatwadi, S/O Sikander Khan and Nadeem, resident of Jatwadi, S/O Akram reached there with another delinquent  character. Saddam started arguing with Mukesh accusing him of hitting his brother through a bike. When Mukesh denied the occurrence of any such incident, Saddam asked him to go and check on site and sat in his car along with others. They took Mukesh to a lonely area, thrashed him and snatched the gold chain on knife point.

After Mukesh’s complaint, the three convicts were arrested by police. A number of cases are already registered against Saddam in the police station.
