In less than 48 hours after the results of the Rajasthan Assembly Elections were declared, Jaipur, the capital city witnessed a brutal daylight murder that shocked the city.
Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, the President of the right-wing outfit 'Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena' was murdered at 12:30pm on 5 December by unidentified assilants at his residence in the Shyam Nagar area of Jaipur.

The assailants first had tea with Gogamedi before they got up and shot at him, while he was looking at his phone. As per the footage, he was shot at least five times, with the last bullet shot in his head. Protestors and members of the Rajput community staged a protest outside the District Collectorate in Udaipur and demand swift action against the culprits.
As per media reports, Rohit Godara, a man who has nearly 14 cases registered against him and allegedly a member of the Goldie Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility through a Facebook Post. Two of the attackers fled from the spot while the third was killed in the ensuing cross fire.
Interestingly, Sukhdev Godara had asked for police protection from the erstwhile Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot. As per media reports, Gogamedi had approached the Home Ministry and the Police department and asked for protection, saying the members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang are planning to attack him.
