The accused principal Ramesh Chand Katara was arrested by the police in the month of June for raping as many as six minor students studying in his school located under Sadar police station circle of the district. A case has been registered against him under the sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and various sections of Indian Penal Code, said SP Kundan Kawariya. Since his arrest the accused principal was under judicial custody and investigation of the the matter was on.

Sp Dungarpur Kundan Kawariya told UT " The mobile phone of the accused principal was confiscated and was sent for examination to the FSL laboratory, the FSL team have recovered several objectionable pictures of many minor female students of the school, the police will also submit a 1500 pages of Chargesheet which including 1000 pages of mobile location details within 4-5 days in the POCSO court. I have also directed the investigating team to take the matter into Case Officer Scheme for thorough and quick investigation of the case. "

The investigation Officer Deputy Sp Rakesh Sharma said " It was around one and a half months later that the police have received the FSL report of the mobile phone of the accused principal, and according to the report many objectionable material has been recovered from the mobile phone including nude pictures of the minor girls, these pictures were earlier deleted by the accused principal after the matter came to light.However the matter is still under investigation and the bio medical examination report of the victim girls is still awaited. "

Notably the matter came to light on 31st May after parents of six minor students of a government senior secondary school of Dungarpur district lodged complaints at the Sadar police station blaming him for sexually assaulting their daughters. The police lodged an FIR against him under section 376 (punishment for rape),363 (punishment for kidnapping ) and various sections of POCSO Act. Later the accused was arrested by the police and was later remanded under judicial custody, said Deputy Sp Rakesh Sharma.

The parents in their reports alleged that the accused principal use to call the victim girls to the school even during the summer vacation on the pretext of extracurricular activities. He even take them to his newly constructed but isolated house where he use to sexually assualt them and also threaten not to reveal the matter to anyone, said Sharma. Sharma said that the pictures that were recovered from the mobile phone of the accused were found to clicked at his newly constructed house, the case has been taken under 'Case Officer Scheme' and will be investigated further by the Station House Officer.

He said that initially 10 students have given reports against the principal of which 2 had taken their reports back and two of them had said that they were only being sexually assaulted while 6 of them confirmed that they were being raped by the accused. The police have prepared a 1500 page Charge Sheet based on the investigation and will be soon presented in front of the court, Sharma added.
