An old man was robbed by 2 youths on Sunday evening at Shastri Circle. The youths followed him  mainly to rob him off his gold accessories.

Surendra Dalawat owns a medical shop in front of MB Hospital. He left his shop around 5:30 in the evening to get back home in Pahada area. He had barely reached Shastri Circle in front of V-Mart when 2 youths on a bike stopped his scooty saying that they were after him as he broke the traffic signal. Both were wearing helmets so as to hide their faces.

Dalawat said that he hadn't broken any signal. The youths then spoke to him very harshly that checking was going on at the traffic signal and he was running away after breaking the signal. They even enquired as to why he was wearing gold chain and ring. They kept on talking to him just to divert his attention. Within no time they snatched his ring and his gold chain and sped away on the bike.

Dalawat shouted for help but by then these youths had disappeared. There were probably 2 others on a different bike and they were all out to rob people, as suspected by Dalawat. The jewellery taken by the miscreants weighed around 4 tolas. A report has been registered against these unidentified youths in Bhupalpura police station.
