BEWARE of phone calls/messages demanding money or bank details

Presence of mind saved a man from becoming a victim of online fraud. 6 lakh rupees were demanded through a phone call where the caller posed to be SI of Pratapnagar.
As informed by the former councillor Nana Lal Vaya, he got a call on Wednesday and the caller said that he was SI Vivek Singh of Pratapnagar police station. The caller demanded 6 lakh rupees from the Councillor.

The caller posing to be the SI said that his friend was in urgent need of 6 lakh rupees and that he would return the amount within 2 days. The Councillor agreed to pay the amount and after an hour he got another call with details of a bank account in Sirohi in the name of Surendra Singh. After this the Councillor gave the phone number of his accountant to the caller.

The fraud caller then called up Vaya's accountant who somehow didn't pick the call. The caller informed Vaya that the accountant was not picking his call. Vaya then called up the accountant but since he got no response, he called up the actual number of SI Vivek Singh. This is when the actual scene was disclosed when the SI refused to be aware of any such issue.

A report was filed at the Bhupalpura police station. The former councillor Vaya said that had he not called up the SI directly, he would have become a victim of this caller and would have lost 6 lakh rupees.
