In a major operation, a special task force (STF) setup by Ambamata Police Station arrested 5 people who were planning a petrol pump robbery. The STF also recovered 3 pistol and 11 cartridges from the arrested people.

As per the information received, Police received a tip-off from an informer that some suspicious people were hiding in hills behind Rani Road. On this, Police laid a trap and arrested 5 people who were planning a petrol pump robbery.

The five arrested people include Ayub Shah and Bilal Bittu who are both wanted criminals. The duo were wanted in over 20 cases including murder, robbery and violence.

It may be noted that Ayub Shah was also named as the prime accused in the firing that was carried out on a handicraft businessman on Gulab Bagh road recently.

On interrogation, the arrested people accepted planning a petrol pump robbery.
