Team from Surajpole Police has managed to solve the Rs 1 Cr theft at jewellery showroom in Bapu Bazaar. The culprit has been arrested and the theft amount and jewellery items recovered from him.

Police managed to solve this major theft within just 24 hours. ASP Harsh Ratnu informed that the culprit has been identified as Devendra. He was a worker in the showroom itself.

On Friday night, Devendra managed to hide himself while the showroom was being locked. He then carried out the theft at peace during night. He then moved out of the showroom with the help of the keys that he had.

Given that the entire theft was carried out so neatly, Police suspected role of some insider. Police then started questioning all the workers of the showroom and their suspicion fell on Devendra.

On questioning Devendra broke down and accepted to committing the crime. He also guided Police to the area where he had kept the loot. Police recovered 2 Kg gold jewellery, Rs 50 Lakh worth of diamond and Rs 8.4 Lakh cash from him.

Devendra had been working at the showroom for last 9 months.
