Police arrested the prime accused in the case of firing on BJP Youth Wing leader Kundan Singh Chauhan at Ghantaghar area on 25-Apr.

Police arrested the prime accused in the case of firing on BJP Youth Wing leader Kundan Singh Chauhan at Ghantaghar area on 25-Apr.

Kheradiwada resident Sohail Akhtar alias Sonu Bachcha (21) s/o Shaukat Hussain and Mallatalai resident Mohammad Sarfaraz alias Chhota Mewati (19) s/o Mohammad Jameel were arrested by Police from Mandsaur (M.P).

A thorough interrogation was then carried by ASP Harsh Ratnu, DySP Bhanwar Singh Hada, HM SHO Jitendra Aanchaliya, SI Yashwant Solanki, Constable Rakesh Kumar and Kiran Kumar. In the interrogation, Sohail accepted that 2 months back his paternal uncle Mahmood Hussain got into an altercation with Harish Goswami. In the incident Kundan Chauhan gave support to Goswami. A case was registered in Ghantaghar Police Station.

In the case, Police also arrested Sohail’s father Shaukat Hussain and he was put in jail. Sohail was informed by his friends that Kundan had also used foul language against his father.

Angered by this, Sohail devised a plan with his friend Sameer, Jameel and 2 others for taking out Kundan.

It maybe noted that police had already detained 2 juveniles in this case.

The accused and his partners were on a constant vigil in that area. On 25-Apr, Sameer informed Sohail that Kundan was alone in his shop. At this, Sohail came to the shop with Sarfaraz. Sarfaraz stayed on the motorcycle while Sohail went inside. Kundan started to run after seeing Sohail. On this Sohail fired at Kundan.

Readers may note that Kundan was lucky to survive with minor injury in his arm.
