Principal arrested for sexual harassment of minor students at Dungarpur. The court remanded the accused Principal of a government school under 1 days police custody remand on Sunday a day after he was arrested for allegedly sexually harrasing as many as 6 students of the school here at Dungarpur district.

The investigating officer Rakesh Sharma said that the accused Principal has been booked under various sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and  section 376, and 363 of Indian Penal Code.

The Union Minister for Water Resources Gajendra Singh Shekawat by reacting upon the incident tweeted that " Our heads are down with shame infront of our daughters as the devils are also present in the schools.The state government never tried to see the incidents of rape from the eyes of our daughters.instead thr government held it an act of masculinity and had always laughed.The daughters can also see and hear every thing how would they feel?".

Shekhawat also wrote that may be the government in place of doing gender discrimination has taken some strong arrangements than Rajasthan would not be on top in the cases of rape.

Superintendent of Police Dungarpur Kundan Kawaria said that the matter was reported by the victim girls on 31st May. In their report they claimed that the Principal of their school called them at school even during the summer vacation on the name of playing games and other activities, use to sexually harrased, stripped them off and also raped them. It was when the girls shared it with their family members that they reported the incident to police following which an investigation has been launched.

Annoyed with the incident the relatives of the victim girl also met the district collector and demanded strict legal action against the accused. However the police has arrested the accused on Saturday evening.

Kawaria said that the victim girls are all students of classes 4, 5 and 6 ageing between 9 to 12 years.
