Three men belonging to the Dawoodi Bohra community in Banswara were arrested by the Banswara Police of committing embezzlement in the Dawoodi Bohra communities Qardan Hasanat Trust office at Banswara.

The father-sons trio, where the father Saifuddin Babji is the Chairman of the Qardan Hasanat Trust in Banswara, and his sons, Taha Hussain Ujjainwala and Hatim Ujjainwala have been accused of embezzling gold ornaments and gold biscuits kept as security with the Qardan Hasant trust.

As per the statement from the Additional SP Banswara, Kaan Singh Bhati, the three men were arrersted with around 7.5 kg of gold ornaments and biscuits that were allegedly stolen from the lockers of Qardan Hasanat. The trio used to steal the gold from the lockers of Qardan Hasanat Trust (as Saifuddin is the Chairman and had access) and keep it as security with Banks and local businessment to secure loans worth Crores for themselves.

Notably Qardan Hasanat is a Trust run by the administration of the Dawoodi Bohra Community globally, that grants interest free loans to members of the community, keeping their gold as security.

The incident came to light when people from the community settled their loans and asked for their gold. The office holder Saifuddin kept them waiting and when the complaint was lodged, Saifuddin and both his sons went absconding from Banswara. Police began a search for the trio and arrested them. Nearly 7.5 kg of Gold was confiscated from them.

The team from Banswara Police included CI Vikram Singh Ranawat, SI Kaluram, ASI Vivekbhan Singh, Head Constable Lekharam, Constable Shailendra, Hitesh Patidar, Arvind and Mahipal Singh.
