Udaipur police seize illicit alcohol, marijuana, audio systems and 10 vehicles; arrested people include 13 women

Udaipur, January 2, 2025 - In a major operation on December 31, Udaipur police busted a rave party being held at hotel at, Dhikli, in the district. A total of 40 people were arrested during the police raid, including 13 women. In addition, the police seized illicit alcohol, marijuana, audio systems and 10 vehicles.

According to reports, the police received a tip-off from an informant about a rave party being held on New Year Eve. The party had been advertised on social media with an entry fee of Rs 11,999. The police were told by the informant that the event involved illicit alcohol, prostitution and mujra dance performances.

The police team, led by Deputy SP Girwa Suryaveer Singh Rathore, carried out a planned raid and caught the party in full swing. Some people were found in the lobby, while dance performance were being held on the veranda. A large number of currency notes were also recovered. The police seized 14 bottles of English liquor, 22 bottles of beer, 24 bottles of Breezer, marijuana, cigarettes and condoms.

Organisers  and several others were arrested. The police have registered a case and begun an investigation. Additionally, 10 women were arrested five of whom were brought for flesh trade and another five for mujra performances, say the police.

Deputy SP Suryaveer Singh Rathore said: "We got the information about the party organised at hotel located at Dhikli area of Pratap Nagar police station. A team including Pratap Nagar police and District Special Task force led by me headed towards the said place where we found a number of four-wheelers parked outside. We raided the place and caught 40 people, including the girls, while they were busy consuming liquor and drugs. We also found girls dancing to Bollywood songs. During the investigation we found that these girls were paid Rs 50,000 each by the organisers of the party. We also learnt that they runs an escort service in Udaipur and Bhilwara. "

SP Rathore said most of the arrested are somewhere linked to the same business. He further said that interrogation of the arrested is on and more information will be revealed and more arrests could take place
