Four petrol pumps located on National Highway No. 76 were looted by a gang of around 5 to 6 young men last night. The robbers looted nearly Rs.10 Lac from two pumps in Dabok, one of Mavli and Kapasan.

Udaipur police launched search operation and lodged check post on highways on the basis of clues found but the robbers are still absconding.

The series of loot by a single gang has worried the police department. The first incident was reported at 11:30pm and the robbers continued targeting one after other pumps till 2.30am.

According to police, two petrol stations of Dabok viz. RK Petrol Pump and Salasar Petrol Pump while Mangalam Petrol Pump of Mavli and Shreeji Petrol Pump of Kapasan were targeted.

The armed men thrashed the petrol pump employees, locked them in a room and looted cash amount of nearly Rs.10 Lac. Around 1 Lac rupees were looted from RK Pump Dabok whereas Rs.5 Lac cash from Salasar, Rs.3 Lac from Mangalam and Rs.13000 from Shreeji Petrol Pump were robbed.

Inspector General of Police G.N Purohit informed that, the accused are not identified yet but through some clues, it is assumed that they might be from the neighboring state of Haryana.

Editing & Update We were informed that there were no cameras installed in any of the petrol pumps, however after noticing the first pic of the pump, we realized it as a mistake by our part, hence we removed the line stating “there were no cameras installed…”
