Rs.4 Lac looted from a house at 80ft Road

Gold and Silver ornaments worth lacs of rupees including some cash has been stolen from a vacant house located at 80ft road near Rim Jim Vatika. An FIR was lodged today with Ambamata Police Station by the house-owner Mohammad Ayub Sheikh who was out of the city with his family from past few days.

Gold and Silver ornaments worth lacs of rupees including some cash has been stolen from a vacant house located at 80ft road near Rim Jim Vatika. An FIR was lodged today with Ambamata Police Station by the house-owner Mohammad Ayub Sheikh who was out of the city with his family from past few days.

According to Ayub who is employed in Kuwait, the loss is estimated at around Rs.4 lac that includes 10 tola Gold, more than half kg Silver and Rs.9000 cash. It is suspected that the thieves broke into the house by making their way through the iron net installed on terrace.

Ayub Sheikh was out with his wife and children from last Sunday. “We went to Ajmer and on the way did a halt at Nathdwara and Chittorgarh to meet our relatives” said Ayub.

“We had hired a painter to paint the house from outside. Today morning, when he saw the gates open from inside, he suspected something fishy and informed us, we immediately rushed to Udaipur.”, said Ayub.

The house was completely ransacked and all cupboards were opened. Jewelry kept in a box inside the bed was also found to be missing.

Prima facie, thieves successfully entered into house through terrace but while exiting, they broke the main gate and jumped off the boundary wall.
