Rs 3.95 Crore Cash Seized from Car on Sirohi - Ahmedabad Highway

 
Rs 3.95 Crore Hawala cash recovered from Punjab car on the Sirohi ahmedabad highway

The Sirohi police arrested two men on tuesday, 31 January and seized rs. 3.95 Crore in cash from them.

As per police reports, the information on  car carrying Rs. 3.95 Crore cash on the Sirohi - Ahmedabad highway was received by the Sirohi Police. Taking cognizance of the tipoff, which said that the car was headed towards Abu Road from Sirohi, the police sprung into action and established a road block on the highway. On spotting the suspect car, the police team stopped the white SUV that was bearing a Punjab state number plate. The passengers in the car were interrogated and the car was searched. Rs. 3.95 Crore cash was found stashed away in a specially constructed box under the seat of the car. The police have recovered the cash and arrested both the men after they failed to produce supporting documents.

Those arrested were identified as Jignesh Dave and Kaushik Bhai and both were booked under several sections of IPC. Preliminary interrogation revealed that the cash was meant to be delivered to an unnamed person in Ahmedabad.  The arrested men are being interrogated and police are hopeful that a larger Hawala racket will be exposed eventually.
