Udaipur Police team has successfully solved the Savina Jain temple theft that occurred a couple of weeks back. Police has nabbed the culprits and has recovered the precious idols made of AshtDhatu (combination of 8 metals including gold, silver, copper, zinc, lead, tin, iron and mercury) from them.
SP Rajendra Prasad Goyal informed that besides the idols, thieves had also made away with three umbrella shelters on top of the idols that were made of 1.5 kgs silver. SP Goyal said that one Devilal (65) had lodged an FIR in this regard on Oct 25, 2016 complaining about the theft of the idols and also of cash from the donation box.
Basis the FIR, an investigation team was formed under the guidance of SP Goyal for solving the case. The team started the investigation by questioning individuals with history of such thefts in police records. During one such interrogation, Karan (alias Kanhaiyya), aged 20 years and Prem Lal (25 years) succumbed to the interrogation and were nabbed. Police recovered four precious idols from the duo.
SP Goyal informed the accused had carried out a thorough survey of the area 2 days before the theft. They had also taken all information about the idols the night before the theft.
Udaipur Police deserves a pat on the back for solving the case in two weeks time.
