Senior Citizen Murdered after Being Robbed

A senior citizen was murdered by unknown assailants who also robbed jewelries and other expensive things worth more than 5 lakh rupees from the house located in Pula, Udaipur.

A senior citizen was murdered by unknown assailants who also robbed jewelries and other expensive things worth more than 5 lakh rupees from the house located in Pula, Udaipur.

Premlata Baya (68 yrs) a house wife was robbed and brutally murdered after last midnight of April 6 at his house at posh Ganpati Vihar, Pula near Fatehpura, Udaipur.

Rajendra Baya (ex vice president of J.K. Pharma) was taken aback when he found his wife dead in the adjacent room.

The incident came into light when Rajendra Baya woke up around 7am & found his room locked from outside, he called his wife but there was no reply, it made him think that his wife must have gone out for a walk. When the maid came, she found the main door locked from outside, she jumped from the gate and found that the other doors were locked too. She called Rajendra Baya, and got a reply from him that he is also bolted in a room. Then she went to neighbour’s home and got entry into Baya’s house.

“I was sleeping in the room, after getting up I found the doors locked from outside. When our maid arrived, I asked her to open the door from outside. But as the main door was also locked, the servant went to neighbor’s home and then got entry into our home.

After opening the door, I headed for the adjacent room where my wife was sleeping, and the view was shocking, my wife’s dead body was laying there.” stated Rajendra.

The whole room was ransacked. Premlata’s hands & legs were tied by rope and face covered with pillow which was blood clotted. By looking at it, it seemed like the head of the deceased was hit by some hard object.

According to Rajendra Baya , goods worth 5 lacs (including gold & silver jwellery) are missing from home.

A.D.S.P. Tejraj Singh with Deputy Officer Dayanand Sarag reached the spot to observe the situation.

The case is registered to Ambamata Police Thana. C.I. Niranjan Prasad registered the case of theft & murder.

The body is taken for post mortem and further investigation is going on.
