Son Kills Step-Mother

A shocking incident shook the city today where a son killed his step-mother in Khatikwada, Hathipol. The bloody incident took place when Babulal Khatik (35) killed his step-mother Pushpa Devi Khatik (45) by attacking her with a sword.

 

UPDATE:Babulal Khatik s/o Bherulal Khatik and the prime accused in the Khatikwada, (Hathipol) murder case was finally taken into Police custody today evening by the Dhanmandi Police in the Mahakaleshwar Temple premises, Ambamata Area. Babulal Khatik is accused for killing his step-mother on 15th July, 2012 with the help of a sword.  He is now placed under remand at the Dhanmandi Police Station.

A shocking incident shook the city today where a son killed his step-mother in Khatikwada, Hathipol. The bloody incident took place when Babulal Khatik (35) killed his step-mother Pushpa Devi Khatik (45) by attacking her with a sword.

The eye-witness of the whole crime Bherulal Khatik (65), father of Babulal lodged the FIR against his son who he held responsible for killing his wife.

According to the FIR, Babulal Khatik came to his parental house at Khatikwada in the evening around 5.30 PM with a sword and instantly started hitting his step-mother (Pushpa Devi) who was working in the kitchen. Bherulal Khatik, shocked from the sudden attack, tried to stop Babulal, but Babulal scuffled with him and pushed him away.

Due to his weak health Bherulal was not able to regain strength while Babulal kept hitting Pushpa Devi on her head and hand. Due to over bleeding she died and Babulal then fled from the scene.

Bherulal then somehow informed his relatives and his younger son Hemant Khatik (25). They reached on the scene at around 7.30 PM and then the police was informed. Police came on-spot and did the inspection of the murder-scene.

As informed in the FIR, Babulal and Hemant were not in good terms with their step mother Pushpa Devi and hence they used to live seperately. Babulal who is a Share Broker and lives in Bedla, was at his parental house in Khatikwada this morning to take part in a Shanti-Yagya which was carried out for his grandmother who had passed away recently.

During this very visit, Babulal had a quarrel with Pushpa Devi and he threatened her with her life. Subsquently in the evening, this mishap took place.

The FIR is lodged with Dhanmandi Police Station, and the Police is looking into the case. Further details on the status will be updated as and when made available through the relevant sources.
