A suicide note allegedly written by Pradeep Singh Bhati, the prime accused of the Shekhar Panchal murder case, was found in Hardwar at the bank of River Ganga on Saturday 14th January 2012.

Bhati has been absconding since allegedly kidnapping and murdering 21-year-old student of Pacific University Udaipur, Shekhar Panchal, on 31st December 2011. Shekhar’s body was later recovered from Kota on 10th January 2012.

According to media sources, a 5 page suicide note with a mobile phone, a blood stained cloth and few other things including an ATM card and life insurance card have been found in Hardwar. Police is investigating the mobile call details and other proof to ascertain the whereabouts of Bhati, while they are also predicting that Bhati might have attempted suicide.

In the suicide note, Bhati described his financial crisis and named a few people whom he has borrowed money from; he also mentioned his parents, wife and child.

According to sources, a rag-picker who had found Bhati’s bag took the mobile phone and threw the rest of the things. The rag-picker later sold Bhati’s mobile phone to a shopkeeper in Hardwar. The moment the shopkeeper switched on the phone, the Police surveillance picked up the location, which led them to the shopkeeper, later on to the rag-picker and then to the bag in which they found the alleged material belonging to Bhati.
