Udaipur,04.06.24 - A government school teacher has been handed over with a one and a half year jail term and hefty fine under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and section 354 IPC. 

The accused, identified as "A", a teacher at the local school located at a village of Udaipur, was found guilty of outraging the modesty of the minor girl inside a classroom. Justice Sanjay Kumar Bhatnagar of Udaipur District and Sessions Court presided the case and delivered the verdict on Tuesday.

Furthermore, it was decreed that any time already served during the investigation and trial would be deducted from the sentenced period 

The court pronounced the accused under section 9 (C)/10 of the POCSO Act and sentenced him to one and a half year of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine .This incident came to light on 27.10.23 when the Head Master of the school had given a report to the police against him. The police than started the investigation of the matter and arrested the accused teacher. 

Public Prosecutor Advocate Sayed Hussain told that later the statement of the victim was recorded in front of the court under section 164 CrPc. 36 documents were exhibited and around 17 witnesses were heard by the court on the basis of which the POCSO Court No.2 has pronounced the verdict.
