An alarming growth in the number of chain snatching incidents in the city of lakes has come to light as another such incident occurred in the Hiran Magri today.

According to reports, the victim of the chain snatching, 50 year old Narbada Devi, was returning home after attending the prayers at the temple located near the Savitri Vatika area.

While she was en route, two men travelling on a motorcycle crossed the victim and stopped their motorcycle after doing so. As soon as she was close enough, the men quickly snatched the gold chain.

The victim (in photo) attempted to retaliate and shouted for help in an attempt to alert someone and catch the chain snatchers. However, the duo quickly took the chain from the victim’s hand and fled the scene before any such attempt could be made.

The police reacted to the incident by putting up barricades in several areas in an attempt to trace and apprehend the chain snatchers.

However, this attempt proved to be unsuccessful. This is the 3^rd such incident that has occurred in the last 15 days. The sudden growth of this crime has been observed and hopefully, the local authorities will take proper steps and soon bring the criminals to justice.
