Thieves made away with precious idols made of AshtDhatu (combination of 8 metals including gold, silver, copper, zinc, lead, tin, iron and mercury) from Digamber Jain temple at Savina. Not satisfied, the thieves then targeted the Ambamata temple and made away with cash.
As per media sources, the thieves made away with 7 idols from the Digamber Jain temple at Savina. The theft happened in the night between Monday and Tuesday, 25 Oct. After making away with the idols, the thieves targeted the donation box at the Ambamata temple and took away all the cash.
When the locals came to know of the theft in the morning, they rushed to the police station and lodged a complaint. As per SHO, Sanjeev Swami, police has initiated investigation into the matter. Initial investigation suggests that the thieves cut open the grill in both the temples for making an entry.
