Interesting part of this whole story is a brave attempt of a victim itself who ran after the thieves who were auto rickshaw drivers, caught them all alone till a few people came to help the old man.

Theft attempt failed, 2 arrested

55 year old Rupa Gayri ( in photo above) from Boida Village, Amberi left his home for Udaipur at 11 in the morning in an auto from Sukher to Panchwati where he changed another rickshaw to reach Delhi Gate. But when he reached Delhi Gate the driver didn’t stop the vehicle till Rupa vehemently asked the driver to stop.

While coming out of the rickshaw auto driver Kalu alias Ramzan took out Rs.1500 from Rupa’s pocket, a man standing near the rickshaw saw it and alerted Rupa but the thief ran down the vehicle, but the old man was not in a mood to leave it, he ran a few meters shouting for help and hanged over the moving rickshaw.

Soon help arrived when another rickshaw driver intentionally rode his vehicle in front of running thieves and people nearby caught them finally.

Thieves, auto rickshaw driver and his helper Kalu and Aslam Khan were arrested. Surajpol Police Thana ASI Nirbhay Singh said that both accused are pretending to be a drug addicts as they have several marks of injections on their hands.
