14 people have been arrested in the Tidi highway robbery case. 1.5 kilo of gold and 27 kilo of silver is yet to be recovered.
On 23rd June 2017, a big robbery took place at Paduna Toll plaza at Tidi in which the jewellers were robbed off the huge quantity of gold and silver they were carrying while on a trip to Ahmedabad. Until now 14 arrests have been made. Thursday night, police arrested Bherulal from Chittor. He is on a 4 day remand. Police is yet to get 1.5 kilo of gold and 27 kilos of silver from the loot.
13 robbers were arrested in the last two months. One of the robbers Prabhu Lal Gurjar from Bhainsda is still away from police’s reach.
On early morning of 23rd June, the loot took place when Somdutt Kushwaha of Agra was going towards Ahmedabad. Four of the robbers were arrested on 4th July. Police recovered 230 kilos of silver and a vehicle from them. After this search operation was carried out in Mumbai and Gujarat. 9 robbers were arrested and 213 kilos of silver and 3 vehicles were recovered from them. The remaining 27 kilo of silver is yet to be found along with 1.5 kilo of gold. A total of 470 kilo of silver was robbed on the morning of 23rd June. Police is expecting to recover the balance of silver from Bheru. Bheru is being interrogated and search for Prabhu Lal is on. It is also expected that Prabhu Lal will not be able to remain free for long and will soon be arrested by police.
