A policeman was allegedly accused by a tribal woman saying that he held her hostage in a room and raped her more than 4 times in a single night, around a fortnight ago in Udaipur. The woman claimed that she approached the police station but no one paid attention to her complaint neither was she sent for any medical examination.
The 25 year old victim met the higher authorities on Wednesday and registered the statement before them. IG Anand Srivastava and SP Rajendra Prasad Goyal assured speedy action against the accused.
The victim is a resident of Khankharia Fala village in Bhavrana. The victim said that she was married to Arvind Meena , resident of Naya Tapra village in Sabla of Dungerpur district, in April this year. Due to a local festival she had come to her parents place at Udaipur. The victim had gone to participate in a Garba program on 22 August and while she was returning from the function, ASI Surendra Singh of Bhawrana chowky stopped her.
In her complaint the victim said the cop forcedly led her to his room nearby where he threatened her against making noise and raped her four times throughout the night. The cop also said that if she opened her mouth, she and her father would be booked in any false case which they would repent later.
The victim didn’t disclose the matter to her parents however on September 7th she revealed the matter to her husband. Despite making repeated complaints at the Jhallara police station, cops refrained from registering it. Hence the couple approached the higher authorities at police headquarters
