Udaipur, 1st January 2025 - The Badgaon police of the district have arrested one Nigerian National and one of his aides in connection with the International Drug Racket being carried out in the city. The two were arrested by the police on the information of another Nigerian woman who was arrested earlier.
The police have also seized around 30 grams of the banned narcotic substance MDMA from their possession.
It was on 26th January 2025 when a joint team of Badgaon police station and District Special Task Force (DST) Udaipur on the information of the reliable sources nabbed a 27 year old Nigerian woman Nancy Avino from Heritage Haveli Guest House in Udaipur’s Chandpole area and had also seized banned drug MDMA from her. During her interrogation the accused woman and analysis of the her mobile phone it was found that she had purchased the MDMA from a Nigerian supplier based in Delhi. Following this lead, the police team traveled to Delhi on January 29, 2025, and successfully arrested Chiaghalm Jerome Onwuneme , a Nigerian national residing in Uttam Nagar, Dwarka area of the Capital city.
It was also found that she was about to supply the Drugs MDMA to a local individual named Ankita Sharma. Based on technical surveillance, police tracked down and arrested Ankit Sharma a resident of Yadav Colony, Ambamata, Udaipur on Saturday February 1, 2025.
According to the information from the police the police teams are conducting extensive crackdown on international drug trafficking. Investigations are underway to identify and dismantle the entire drug supply network linked to these accused.
