Udaipur: 2,827 Cases Registered in 13 Police Stations in 8 Months

In Udaipur's 13 police stations, a total of 2,827 cases were registered from January to August this year. Theft emerged as the most common crime, with 612 cases reported. Interestingly, there were no cases of robbery recorded during this period. The lowest number of cases were for murder, with only 26 incidents.

Pratapnagar Tops, Dhanmandi Reports Least Cases

Pratap Nagar police station reported the highest number of cases, registering 169 in the last eight months. On the other hand, Dhanmandi recorded the lowest number, with just 20 cases. Police stations in Sukher, Savina, Hiran Magri, and Surajpol all exceeded 100 cases. In contrast, Ghantaghar, Nai, Bhupalpura, and Hathipol stations reported fewer than 100 cases each.

Large Areas Contribute to Higher Crime Rates

Pratap Nagar and Sukher are among the largest police station areas in the city. Pratapnagar covers a 25-kms area that includes Debari, Madri, Thokar, University, Kalka Mata, Kanpur, Lakadwas, and Sakroda villages. 

Sukher station spans 14 kms, covering Kailashpuri, RK Circle, Kavita, Bedla, and the new RTO office. Both areas include several villages and highways, contributing to higher crime rates. Pratapnagar reported 82 theft cases, while Sukher registered 78. The lowest murder cases were recorded in these stations, with 5 in Pratap Nagar and none in Sukher.
