Udaipur Police has rounded up all the 7 accused including the main accused in the infamous Udaipur Gang Rape that happened on Sunday, March 1.

District Superintendent of Police, Kailash Chandra Bishnoi informed that all the accused are history sheeters, between 19-22 years of age.  He added that the main accused in the Gang Rape case, Fardeen alias Ganja, 19, son of Saeed Khan Pathan, resident of Hiran Magri, Udaipur was nabbed along with other members of the gang who executed the kidnapping, extortion and gang rape drama.  His co-accused include 22 year old Shahrukh, alias Kuttiya, son of Moinuddin, resident of Bhilwara; 20 year old Moin, alias Durri, son of Yunus Khan Pathan, resident of Gandhinagar Basti, Ambamata, Udaipur; 20 year old Mohammad Sarfraz, alias Chhota Mewati, son of Mohammad Jameel, resident of Mulla Talai, Udaipur; 20 year old Gaurav Singh alias Bittu, son of Indra Singh Rajput, resident of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Pulla, Udaipur; Pradeep, 22, son of Bhanwar Lal Meghwal, resident of Surajpol, Udaipur and Faiyyaz, 22, son of Mohammad Aziz Khan, resident of Sajjannagar, Udaipur.

Pradeep was nabbed on 3 March from Surajpol, while Shahrukh was arrested on 5 March from Bhilwara.  Post interrogation of the two, their co-accused were rounded up from the Dargah area of Ajmer today.  All the accused had firearms on them and the car used for executing the crime, a Hyundai i20 was also confiscated by the police.

How the Kidnapping, attempt to Extortion and Rape were executed

SP, Kailash Chandra Bishnoi informed media that all the accused were already staying at the New Srinath Kathiyawadi hotel and waiting to execute the crime. This was gauged from the CCTV footage in the hotel.  At around 2230 hrs on Sunday, 1 March, the victim and her male friend stopped by near the hotel in their personal car, which was a Maruti Swift.  In a few minutes of their presence in the vicinity, Fardeen, the main accused and his three associates forced the couple in their own car, at gunpoint.

They were then driven from Savina to Haldighati via RIICO Kaldvas and Sukher.  While en-route the three co-accused started beating up the girl and her male friend.  During the altercation, the accused snatched a gold chain off the girl and Rs 56,000 from the boy.

Post this, the accused called Ashok Jain, owner of the event management company where the couple worked.  They asked him for an extortion amount of Rs 2 Lakh, in return for the girl and boy, to which Ashok refused.  The accused then took the couple to Debari railway station. The other three co-accused joined them at Debari.  Two of the men sexually assaulted the girl.  The male escort was also sodomised as per the FIR. Towards morning the accused dropped the couple off near Pratapnagar and fled after leaving the victim’s car at Kumharon ka Bhatta.

SP Kailash Chandra Bishnoi informed that the victim couple as well as the owner of the event Management company, Ashok Jain, were also involved in sex trade.  Investigations and interrogations towards this is being carried out separately. Though the event management company owner Ashok Jain is not involved directly with the kidnapping and extortion, the delay in reporting the matter to the police is being investigated separately.

Police Team that executed the investigation, search and arrests

The Udaipur Police team, led by Additional SP (City), Gopal Swaroop Mewara and Additional SP (Head Office), Anant Kumar executed the investigation and search operation in Udaipur, Nimbaheda, Kapasan, Ravatbhata, Bhilwara Mandsaur, Jaavra, Ratlam, Chittor and Ajmer.
