Udaipur man alleges sexual harrassment by fake “baba”
An Udaipur man lodged an FIR at Ghantaghar Police Station accusing a fraud godman ("baba") of sexually harassing him and threatening him with video clips from the incident.
An Udaipur man lodged an FIR at Ghantaghar Police Station accusing a fraud godman (“baba”) of sexually harassing him and threatening him with video clips from the incident.
The victim, a 22 year old resident at Ghantaghar, said that he came in contact with the baba via Facebook. The baba has been identified as Ramsharan Das, chief of Bhaktidham Peeth in Nagaur.
The baba sent him a friend request on Facebook and told him that his family was about to land into big trouble and he could help improve their family’s life. The baba called him to his Asharam in Nagaur. When the victim did not go directly, baba came to Udaipur and took the victim along with him to his asharam in Nagaur after promising him wealth and prosperity in life.
During the victim’s stint in Nagaur asharam, baba started taking sexually harassing the victim. Baba got the victim to don a female’s character and got his nose and ears pierced. He even got his entire body waxed. He was made to wear feminine clothes. Baba and his fellow conmen then continued sexually harassing the victim. Baba then threatened to post the clippings on social media site and threatened the victim not to speak up.
The victim somehow managed to run away from the asharam. The victim and his family did not lodge police complaint fearing loss of repute in public. However, when the family got support from advocate Harish Paliwal and Priyankapal Singh, they lodged an FIR at Ghantaghar police station.
Police has lodged a complaint under IPC section 323, 347, 384, 377 and 506.
