An Udaipur man was killed in firing between two gangs in Bangkok on Sunday evening. Two other people were injured in the incident and condition of one of them is said to be critical.

An Udaipur man was killed in firing between two gangs in Bangkok on Sunday evening. Two other people were injured in the incident and condition of one of them is said to be critical.

The deceased, Dheeraj (s/o Choteram Gakhreja) was a resident of Sec-5 Hiran Magri. He was working as an agent with ICICI Lombard and was among the select set of 400 agents from across the country who were sent on a trip to Bangkok by the company on 3-Oct.

Dheeraj was having dinner with his colleagues in a restaurant at around 7pm local time. Around that time a fight broke out between local groups there and firing started. One of the bullets hit Dheeraj. Dheeraj’s mobile was found from the spot from where the restaurant owner called up Dheeraj’s family in Udaipur and informed them about the incident. Post that Dheeraj’s mobile was taken into custody by the Bangkok Police.

While the bullet his Dheeraj in his stomach killing him, another Udaipur citizen Sanchit was hit by the bullet in his arm.

Sector-14 resident Dharmendra Sharma was also present on the occasion and had a close escape. He got some minor injuries while trying to escape.

The group was supposed to come back to India today.
