Udaipur Police makes headway in the Sanwariya Double Murder caseUdaipur Police seems to have made some headway in solving the mysterious double murder of retired professor Ramesh Ameta, owner of Sanwariya Guest House and his servant Devilal Meena at Sector-4. The murders that had left the entire area shell-shocked were detected on Friday 29 June 2012.

Our sources confirm that some solid proofs that have been found by Udaipur Police. However, no official statement has yet been made by any officer.

Sources also confirm that a suspected woman who was closely associated with the victim, Ramesh Ameta, has been detained by police today.

The suspected woman is said to be a widow and mother of two children. She was living at a house given by Ameta at Hiran Magri Sector-4 which was close to the guest house. “She used to visit the guest house everyday and offer her service as a cook for Ameta”, said a person who did not want to disclose his identity.

The crime scene also confirmed alleged involvement of a woman when police have found few female clothes near the naked body of Ramesh Ameta yesterday.

Ameta’s sons were unhappy with their father’s illicit relation with the woman and had frequent heated argument over the issue.

Our reporter also had a small discussion with the relatives of the murdered servant, Devilal Meena, who used to work for Ameta from last three years. The relatives of Meena also confirmed that a woman, whose identity is still not known, had close relation with Ramesh Ameta.

Ramesh Ameta’s wife died some 25 years back and since then he left his ancestral house at Brahmpol and started living at his own guest house at sector-4 from where his body was found yesterday lying in pool of blood.

Given that the bodies were recovered 2-3 days after the murder, questions are also being raised that if that unidentified woman used to visit Ameta every day, then why she stopped meeting him in last 2-3 days?

When UT tried to get comments from Investigating Officer and SHO of Hiran Magri Police Station Kailash Khatik, we were told that, “We are not in the state of disclosing anything now, investigations are going on and we will soon nab the culprits”.
