More than 37000 sq.ft of land owned by The Irrigation Department which was illegally occupied has been taken back by The Urban Development Trust (UIT), today in a series of operations against illegal encroachments in Udaipur.

 

More than 37000 sq.ft of land owned by The Irrigation Department which was illegally occupied has been taken back by The Urban Development Trust (UIT), today in a series of operations against illegal encroachments in Udaipur.

The 37,500 sq.ft of fertile land at Eklavya Nagar colony, Malla Talai had been illegally taken by some miscreants who had also erected a boundary wall around it. The said land is proposed to be used under the yet to be constructed ring-road plan which will stretch till dudh talai.

In a joint operation by UIT and Irrigation department of Udaipur, the demolition team with security forces broke down the illegal wall and took control over the land at 12 PM today, the wall was 500meter long.

UIT Officers- Buddharam Rajput – surveyor, Radheshyam Sharma – inspector and few patwaris with Irrigation officers Ashok Babel, Padam Vora and Bhuvnesh Mathur – JEN led the operation today.

One of the officer said that “this illegal encroachment was constructed over the land of the proposed 18 feet wide and 2.3 kms long ring road which will connect Malla talai – Sisarma – Dudhtalai, on the shore of Lake Pichola.”

UIT had also demolished many illegal constructions yesterday at Tekri area of Udaipur.
