Besides all the security claims made by Udaipur police, some youth faced insult and embarrassment after they were caught and had to face 'punishments’ by the activists of Hindu Mahasena opposing the Valentine's day celebration.
Besides all the security claims made by Udaipur police, some youth faced insult and embarrassment after they were caught and had to face ‘punishments’ by the activists of Hindu Mahasena opposing the Valentine’s day celebration.
The mahasena activists raided parks, lakes and other places to check couples celebrating the day. The girls were spared after warning while boys were punished by the activists.
Valentine’s Day cards were also burned at Surajpol today. Seeing the activists, owners of greeting cards shops at Bapu Bazar closed their stores. They later opened it after they were assured safety by the police.
Ad. S.P Lakhman Singh said that special police teams were deployed at all parks, gardens and lake side areas to insure safety of common public.
The activists opposing Valentine’s Day claimed that the celebration is obscene and indecent for Indian culture and society. It provokes youths to involve in illicit relationships.
