Valentine’s Day cards were also burned at Surajpol today. Seeing the activists, owners of greeting cards shops at Bapu Bazar closed their stores. They later opened it after they were assured safety by the police.

Ad. S.P Lakhman Singh said that special police teams were deployed at all parks, gardens and lake side areas to insure safety of common public.

The activists opposing Valentine’s Day claimed that the celebration is obscene and indecent for Indian culture and society. It provokes youths to involve in illicit relationships.
