4 members of the vehicle robbery gang have been arrested by Pratapnagar police. A car and 5 bikes have been recovered from these robbers.

Pratapnagar police nabbed 4 vehicle robbers who confessed a number of robberies. 1 car and 5 bikes have been recovered from the 4 arrested members. SI Hanwant Singh said that the robbers have been put behind bars. Ratanlal s/o Narulal Khatik resident of Akola in Chittorgarh, Soyeb Ali s/o Akhtar Ali resident of Jawra in Madhya Pradesh, Govind and Rakesh s/o Puran resident of Rupnagar Kachchi basti have been arrested by the police. Tonu Rawat(Sunil)(another member of the gang) s/o Bhanwarlal was also arrested earlier and sent to jail.

It was reported that Mahipal Singh’s Maruti car was stolen some time back. After the case was reported in Pratapnagar police station, the car was spotted at Apni Dhani in search operation. Tonu Rawat was in the car and was asked to produce ownership papers. Since Tonu could not show the papers, he was taken to the police station for investigation. Here he revealed the names of other gang members as well. He also confessed committing other thefts in the town. Once the other members were arrested, police recovered 5 bikes from them.

Investigations revealed that Soyeb Ali used to repair punctures at his relative’s shop. He had a good knowledge of the city. Ratanlal and Soyeb used to visit Udaipur very frequently by bus. They would take away vehicles along with Tonu and Govind. On the highway, they used to change the number plates of the stolen vehicles and keep them in Ratanlal’s house. They stole a number of vehicles from parks and also vehicles parked outside houses. Police is confident of the fact that they will be able to find out about many more thefts from these robbers.
