Vishal Jain(25) s/o Dileep Jain was arrested by Police for allegedly abducting and raping a 2-year old girl. The incident took place in the temple town of Nathdwara on Tuesday night. The girl is in ICU in MB Hospital, Udaipur.

The girl belongs to a Kalbeliya (nomadic) family. They were living in one of the vacant shops of the municipality in Sukhadia Nagar.  Jain kidnapped the girl at knifepoint while she was sleeping with her sister and grandparents.

In a drunken state, Jain first tried to molest toddler’s 4-year old sister. When the girl woke up, he threatened her at knife point and took away the 2-year girl and committed the heinous crime after taking her to a terrace of a nearby empty house. The child’s mouth was stuffed with cloth so that her shout is not heard. The elder sister meanwhile woke up the family who found the child unconscious on the terrace. The victim is currently admitted in the ICU at MB hospital Udaipur

Jain ran a tea-stall at the bus-depot in Nathadwara. After hours of manhunt, Jain was finally nabbed at his relatives house by Police. Jain was arrested and presented before court which ordered him jail. Samples from the accused have been taken and sent for forensic review.

A case has been registered against Jain under POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act.
