After the ruthless murder of Devendra of Jhalore district in Udaipur on 20^th May over extra marital affair, his lover Poonam was murdered on Tuesday by unknown accused at her parent’s house in Jhalore.

The incident occurred on Tuesday night when victim Poonam was sleeping with her parents at their residence in Jhalore where few accused barged in the house at around 3 AM, held her parents hostage and hit Poonam on her head before strangulating her to death, informs SHO of Bagoda Hariram Jaat.

The tragic incident pointed fingers at police to an extent that Poonam, the only witness of Devendra’s murder was under police protection but after orders from District HQ to deploy on-payment security guard, the situation worsened as Poonam’s parents could not afford the payment and so was devoid of police protection.
