The Superintendent of Police of Udaipur has received the complaint of a woman who was sold in Gujarat for Rs. 170,000 by people of her own village.

The Superintendent of Police of Udaipur has received the complaint of a woman who was sold in Gujarat for Rs. 170,000 by people of her own village.

The shocking incident occurred in Falasiya, Udaipur where a 35 year old woman was allegedly sold to a man in Gujarat who raped her for 4 months. Finally, the accused came to take the victim and made her sign on blank paper and threatened her not to disclose any information of the incident and the abuse.

SP Ajaypal Singh Lamba has received the complaint by the victim who reached the SP office today with her husband.

According to the letter, the victim narrated that how she was taken to Gujarat by two men of her village and how the accused later left her with another man. During the incident, victim’s husband was working in Gujarat as a labourer.

The victim also alleged that certain police officials of Falasiya have threatened her, as one of the accused belongs to a politically influential family.

The incident had taken place in May 2012, the complaint for which had been lodged a year later by the victim at Falasiya Police Station. However, no action has been taken against the accused. The victim claims that she has been subjected to a life of disrespect while the perpetrators of the crime are at large.
