A woman was seriously injured after being allegedly assaulted by her house maid on 29^th February. The maid, 22-year-old Heena Sharma threw boiling oil on the face of Bhavna Khanna (40), wife of Ravi Khanna an engineer at L&T and resident of Mahaveer Colony, Fatehpura, Udaipur.

According to the FIR lodged by the daughter of Bhavna, “the maid first heated the oil in a pan and threw the liquid on the face of my mother.”

Bhavna suspected her husband Ravi, of having an extra martial affair with the house maid Heena, who is working since the last one year and that is the main cause of the attack, she told UT.

Although Ambamata police has denied of any such allegations mentioned in the FIR, “It was a normal scuffle which turned horrible”, a police officer told UT.

Bhavna, a house wife has received severe burns on her face; she was admitted to MB Hospital yesterday by her neighbor. Her husband was not at home at the time of the incident.

Bhavna was discharged from the hospital today and reached the S.P office for lodging the complaint. Bhavna has lodged several complaints against her husband for physical assault a year back; the complaints were lodged with both Ambamata Police Station and the office of the Superintendent.

Sidhhant Kakadia, brother of Bhavna told UT, “The S.P. has assured us and directed the police personnel to arrest the maid; we hope for justice.”
