Udaipur,31.08.23-  A woman has been gang raped by one of her friend and five others here at Nathdwara area of Rajsamand district, police said.

The incident reportedly occurred on 21st August when a woman in her early 20s a resident of Kumbhalgarh area was raped by one of her friend Goverdhan Singh and his associates at Krishna Palace hotel of Nathdwara located merely 200 meters from the police station.

In her report to police the victim woman stated that the accused Goverdhan Singh a resident of Khamnor village of the district befriended her six months back. Since than both of them were in contact. On 21st August thr accused called her at Nathdwara on the pretext of a birthday party of his friend held at Krishna hotel. But when she denied than he himself went to house to pick her up, when they went there the accused first introduced her to five of his friends. They all consumed alcohol during the party and also made her dring alcohol and after that they all raped her, Police Officer added.

She also claimed that when she along with her relatives went to the police station her report was not registered, however it was when she and her kins approached Vaibhav Upadhayay a local Congress Leader that her report was registered by the police 8 days after the incident.

Vaibhav told that " i received call from the victim woman a day before, she shared the incident with him and also claimed that police is not registering her report. Following that o immediately contacted the Sp Rajsamand Sudhir Joshi and the report was finally registered on Wednesday".

On the other hand by denying all the allegations the Station House Officer of Shrinath ji Temple police station Sunil Sharma said that the victim herself has given her report to the police and the matter os already under investigation.

Deputy Sp Rajsamand Dinesh Sukhwal who is investigating the matter said that the complaint has been registered under various sections of Indian Penal Code including section 376 D (Punishment for rape) but the matter is still under investigation. The medical examination of the victim woman was also done and further action will be taken after the investigation of the matter will get over ".
