Woman Inmate serving Murder Sentence Dies in Udaipur Central Jail

Ajinder Kaur, a woman inmate at the Udaipur Central Jail breathed her last while serving a life sentence for the murder of her son.

Ajinder was convicted for the murder of her husband and son, Monty Sardar. Harpreet Kaur, Ajinder’s daughter, had testified that Ajinder was responsible for the murder of her father and brother Monty.

As pre Mansingh Barhot, Jailer at the Udaipur Central Jail, Ajinder was severe diabetic patient and had been admitted to SMS Hospital in Jaipur last month.  She was bought back to Jail on 23 March.  She had refused to eat and was on perpetual bed rest due to her failing health.

Mansingh said that Ajinder’s family had been informed of her death, but no one had come to receive her body till afternoon.  Ajinder was housed in a separate cell for women inmates, said Mansingh.  He further added that her death had nothing to do with the Coronavirus.
