A victim of a fraud, who claims cost her 80,000 rupees, came to the office of the Superintendent of Police today to plea for legal action against the offenders.

Geeta Acharya, the victim, lives in a slum area at Savina.  According to her, a year ago, she was approached by Afroz Khan and Mohsin who asked her to fill a form for she was told that the government is allotting homes to BPL card holders.  Afroz’s Mother convinced Geeta telling that she too has filled out the form and promised full responsibility on behalf of her son.

Geeta gave 30,000 rupees, which was all of her savings, to the three individuals to fill the form.  They took her to the court saying that they will also require a blank 100 rupee stamp paper with her signature.  After taking the stamp paper, they demanded 50,000 rupees more.

She managed a loan of the aforementioned amount by pledging all of her gold jewelry with a private firm and handed it over to the 3 individuals.  “I contacted Mohsin and Afroz meanwhile but was only handed assurances”, said Geeta.

However, she went to Mohsin and Afroz last month to ask for her money back if she cannot get a home but was denied the money and treated badly with vile curses.  Geeta thus claims that she has been duped and called for intervention from the Police to get her justice.
