A youth killed a 62 year old man in a case of unrequited love. This is yet another case of murder in Udaipur city. The youth hit the old man with a brick on head when he was told to stay away from the girl.

The 62 year old man was hit on the head with a brick with too much of anger by Bharat Kumawat. Bharat was constantly stalking a girl for the past 2 years. The girl was working at a construction site where Bharat was a supervisor. He had stopped the girl on the way home a number of times and used to follow her and misbehave her. A report was lodged in the police station and he was arrested. Meanwhile the girl got married in Bhilwara around a month and a half back.

Bharat started threatening the girl and her husband over phone calls after he came out from prison. On Tuesday night, he got completely drunk and tried to take away the girl forcibly when she was at her maternal grandfather’s house in Paldi. The grandfather tried to stop him which angered Bharat and he hit the old man on head with a brick. The old man bled profusely and fainted. Upon hearing the girl’s shouting, the family rushed in while Bharat fled from the spot.

The man was rushed to a private hospital where he died late night. The family said they had no idea that Bharat would land up at their house and such an incident would happen. The girl had come home for the first time since her marriage and had gone to visit her grandfather. Police is now searching for the absconding culprit.
