18th Convocation Ceremony of Mohan Lal Sukhadia University

It was a moment of joy, excitement and celebration for all graduates and post-graduates students of Mohan Lal Sukhadia University (MLSU), Udaipur. After 4 years of long wait, the two day long, 18th convocation ceremony of MLSU has been organized from today, March 25 – March 26, 2011.

Chief Guest for the ceremony were Prof. V.N.R. Pillai, Vice-Chancellor IGNOU. Mr. Trilok Purbia, Ex-MLA, Prof. I.V. Triviedi, Vice-Chancellor MLSU and many other educationists and dignitaries were also present.

 

It was a moment of joy, excitement and celebration for all graduates and post-graduates students of Mohan Lal Sukhadia University (MLSU), Udaipur. After 4 years of long wait, the two day long, 18th convocation ceremony of MLSU has been organized from today, March 25 – March 26, 2011.

Chief Guest for the ceremony were Prof. V.N.R. Pillai, Vice-Chancellor IGNOU. Mr. Trilok Purbia, Ex-MLA, Prof. I.V. Triviedi, Vice-Chancellor MLSU and many other educationists and dignitaries were also present.

The program started with prayer and University Song followed by welcoming of the guests.

18th Convocation Ceremony of Mohan Lal Sukhadia UniversityProf. Pillai expressed his views saying that the knowledge of students should not remain restricted to themselves. Instead, they should share it with others, contributing to social, national and international upliftment. He also said that, India will become a super power in Education Sector by 2022 with a rough estimate of about 500 million educated youth. This would share as much as 25% of the total educated population of the world.

According to Prof. Pillai, degrees and diplomas are merely license of education, the real education begins when the students face the real world and challenges of life.

More than 300 graduate and post graduate students from year 2005-2009 were awarded Gold Medal today by Prof. I.V. Trivedi. The convocation remained in news for not allowing the camera by students but finally students were allowed to bring their own cameras and capture these life time moments. Another notable point in today’s ceremony was the absence of Governor of Rajasthan, Hon’ble Shivraj Patil. Convocation ceremony is always held in the presence of Governor, since the duration of event was for two days the program was changed due to busy schedule of the Governor.
