A total of 67 candidates have achieved a perfect score of 720/720 in the National Eligibility Entrance Test for Undergraduate courses (NEET-UG) 2024. Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the exam saw a significant rise in competition, with higher cut-offs compared to previous years.

Among the top scorers is Aryan Yadav, scored a perfect 720/720 and aims to pursue neurology at AIIMS, New Delhi. Yadav's consistent academic excellence, including impressive performances in class X and XII, has marked him as a standout achiever. Shubhan Sengupta also attained a perfect score of 720 in NEET-UG, placing him among the 66 other joint toppers in this prestigious examination.

Joining Yadav and Shubhan are Shivakant Tiwari and Khuzaima Khan, who cleared NEET-2024 in their second attempt with commendable scores of 688/720 and 676/720, respectively.

The NTA reported that out of the 24.06 lakh candidates who registered for NEET this year, 56.4% successfully qualified the exam, showcasing the immense competitiveness of the medical entrance landscape.

Parents Raised Question Regarding Perfect Scores

After students and parents raised concerns, it was discovered that an unusually high number of students, 67 in total, scored a perfect 720 out of 720 on the recent exam. Additionally, there were discrepancies found in the statements released by the agency. Notably, six students with consecutive seat numbers from Haryana achieved this perfect score, suggesting they may have been from the same testing center.

Parents have written letters to the National Testing Agency (NTA), urging a thorough investigation into these discrepancies before counselling begins. Furthermore, there are reports circulating on social media showing scorecards of students who allegedly scored 718 and 719, which parents argue is highly improbable given the exam's scoring system, where each question carries four marks and there are negative marks for incorrect answers.
